Here at ABC we use a fun, hands-on school readiness program in our classes. Get Set for School by Learning Without Tears (LWT) is an award-winning Pre-K curriculum that focuses on playful learning to develop coloring, drawing, counting, building and handwriting readiness skills. We use a variety of manipulatives such as roll-a-dough, magnetic stamps, and wood pieces that all go along with a series of educational songs. Our four-year-old, pre-K classes work in a handwriting activity book.
Throughout the year, we will introduce new activities and the children will participate in arts and crafts that focus on fine motor skills and team building.
The children build 'Mat Man' using the LWT wood pieces and draw a picture of him to become familiar with the parts of the body and develop body awareness. They'll make capital letters and numbers with chalk, slates, and dough. As the children progress through our programs, they will explore lower case letters, rhyming, sequencing, compound and sight words etc.
Learning through music is important too! Just wait... you will soon be hearing new songs for letters, counting and even for fingers and Toes! The individual class music program serves the needs and interests of the different age groups. Our music teacher develops a music curriculum for each class. Through participation in songs, musical games, and the use of instruments, the children further develop their listening, verbal, and musical skills.
Our goal here at ABC is to provide a safe and enriching educational environment that meets the social, emotional and academic needs of preschool age children. We aim to well prepare students to enter Kindergarten and provide them with the tools and skills they need to continue on to have a successful and happy education.

Lois Kelley has owned ABC Nursery LLC since 2009. Prior to owning, Lois was a dedicated teacher at the school who took her passion for teaching preschool age children and made it her life. Since 2009 she has invested in the improvement of the school and created the incredible program that we continue to provide to families today.
Amanda has worked at ABC Nursery LLC since 2009. She has worked with the Executive Director/owner who also happens to be her mother! Amanda started as an assistant teacher and slowly worked her way through the jobs. Over the years she’s enjoyed teaching each age group at ABC, gaining the insight and understanding of every program which has prepared her to guide and work with all the staff. Amanda has transitioned into this position, first acting as Assistant Director for two years. “I take pride in continuing to build on what Lois has created and I find true joy in providing both a safe educational environment for the children but also a kind and flexible workplace for some amazing educators. I consider myself very lucky to have ABC and the wonderful family atmosphere that we provide. I love it here and know you will too!” -Amanda. B
Mrs. Domey moved to Chelmsford in 1984, where she raised her 3 daughters in the Chelmsford Schools. She has her degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State with many years of teaching experience (preschool through kindergarten). She was the owner and Director of the former Open Door Nursery School in Chelmsford for 22 years. It didn’t take much to convince Mrs. Domey to come out of retirement to help ABC given her excitement for teaching and working with children.
